One feature that I had hoped Addison would have before she was born was her daddy's blue eyes. Let's just say I got my wish! :)
Nick has these intensely beautiful steel blue eyes. What's odd is that he comes from an entire brown eyed family. The only other person who had blue eyes was his grandpa and they were almost identical to the color of Nick's. When I was introducing Nick to my family for the first time my Grandma's first words were "Woah! You have gorgeous eyes!". It made me smile because it was so true! So as of right now, Addie definitely has her daddy's eyes. I'm hoping they don't change much but either way, she will always be gorgeous! :)

What Addison Wore Wednesday (4/7/11-4/13/11)
We had so many poopy blow-outs this week! There were quite a few days that Addie spent most of her time in just a diaper partly because it was warm inside and partly because she kept ruining her outfits! Haha! Let me just say it this way: I wasn't able to get a picture of Addison's outfits every day. :(
P.S. Most of this week's pictures were last-minute thoughts and therefore are not of good quality. Sorry about that!
Diaper: BumGenius
Onesie: Carters via Ross
Pants: Wal-Mart
Dress: Unknown (It was given to us as a gift and I can't remember the brand. Plus I'm too lazy to walk downstairs and look. Sorry!)
Bow: Wal-Mart
Ok, so honestly, does anyone even enjoy these posts? I feel like I'm boring you all to death with what Addison wore. If you don't care, I'll do something different. :) Let me know!

Our Current Deck Decor
When we lived in our previous home I had a fantastic clothesline! I loved it. There is nothing better than sun dried laundry fragranced with the fresh mountain air (not to mention the money you save)! :) So when we moved into our current home, I knew we were going to have to install a clothesline somewhere. Who knew that somewhere would be so difficult to find! Let me put it this way, our grassy areas are very limited and those we do have are on an incline. Not exactly the ideal location for a clothesline. I can just imagine myself tumbling head over heals while trying to hang my laundry. Not pretty.
Anyway, my husband has instead, built a makeshift clothesline on our deck that stretches the entire length. It attaches to our swing on one end, and the rail on the other. It's not exactly what we had in mind, but it works. It's amazing what you will be ok with when you are desperate enough.
Alright, the cloth diapers aren't really going to be staying as our permanent deck decor but we will be updating our deck these next few weeks! I'm absolutely thrilled about it! Our deck is (in my opinion) the worse part of our home. It just makes our house look horrible! Picture this: peeling paint on the door, very faded stained wood, unfinished skirting, mismatched flower pots randomly placed throughout, and a lovely unpainted plywood wood box to finish up the look. UGLY!
I'm excited for this project to be finished so I can show you the before and after pictures. You will be amazed! :)
Until then, I'll just show you our makeshift clothesline!

Friday Finds 4/8/11
Sorry for the delay! We had a pretty hectic day and I didn't have my post finalized. It was very difficult for me to narrow down my favorite finds from the week but I managed to do so. Here they are!
I've always wanted to learn how to make chocolate molten lava cake and Chelsea shows you how over on I'm Topsy Turvy! Nick is excited for these, that's for sure! :)
Are these not the most amazing paper flowers ever??? I even have this Stampin' Up! die! I'm really excited to create them myself! Check out Stampin' N Stuff for the tutorial!
I'm totally loving these paper mache eggs from A Little Tipsy. You can find the directions on how to make these over there!
These sponge balls are genius! How easy would they be to make?? Better yet, how fun would they be to throw??? :) Check out One Charming Party to see how they were created!
I love this faux necklace shirt that Kelly made over on Living Craftily Ever After. I'm thinking that some of Addison's boring white onesies would look really cute with some faux necklaces painted on them! :)
I am super excited to make these "Millionaire Nuggets" for our small group on Thursday! I'll let you know how they taste! To find the recipe, check out Making Memories-One Fun Thing After Another!
This gorgeous Easter printable can be found over on Ladybird Ln. I already have it printed and am waiting to put it in the frame and hang it somewhere! :)
Want to learn how to sew? Kim from Retro Mama is giving tutorials over on Craft Snob and she shows you how to create these adorable coasters! I'm thinking that I could really go for an easy sewing project this week! I'm definitely going to be making some for our living room!
I don't know what it is about these prints but I saw them and fell in love! To make it even better, Disney from Ruffles and Stuff has created her own and shared how she did it with her readers! I've already purchased an old dictionary so I can make my own!
This photo and memo display from Shanty 2 Chic is so cute! I'm definitely going to have to try and create one similar since we have so many scraps of wood laying around in my husbands workshop (aka: our garage)!
Well I hope you enjoyed browsing through blog world this week! I certainly did! I can't wait to share the projects that my husband and I are currently working on! I am hoping to get them finished sometime this week! Until then, I am going to keep watching out for more great ideas!

Thirsties Thursday! :)
Not THAT kind of "Thirsty Thursday"! This post is going to be all about our Thirsties Duo Wraps and prefolds! :)
Surprisingly, I LOVE using prefolds. I originally bought them because I wanted to be able to cloth diaper Addison as a newborn but I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for newborn diapers. I figured I'd use them as long as I had to and then I would be done. Well, it turns out that it's one of my preferred methods of cloth diapering now! Even my husband agrees! He actually told me to make sure I get some bigger sizes for when she gets older! WHAT??? :) So, with that said, I am going to do a review on how the Thirsties Duo Wraps work.
First of all, here is what you will need in order to use this cloth diapering system.
- A Thirsties Duo Wrap cover: We bought our covers from Kelly's Closet but there are many other retailers who carry them. The covers come in a two size system. Size one is for babies 6-18 lbs and size two is for babies 18-40 lbs. The covers have a snap down rise that will adjust to fit the size of your baby. You also have the choice of a velcro or snap closure. These covers also come in a variety of cute colors and prints.
- Some sort of prefold diaper. We actually found a really good deal on our prefold diapers on ebay but of course there are online stores who carry them as well. Folding the prefold is actually much easeir than I thought it would be. I watched a couple of different tutorials on YuTube and I figured it out! Nick figured it out right away too!
- A Snappi or diaper pins: We purchased our Snappis from Kelly's Closet but again, you can find them on other sites as well. The Snappis are a cinch to use so we chose them over diaper pins.
First of all, this system is by far the cheapest! You don't have to use the Thirsties covers but they are one of the cheapest out there and we love the fact that they have the inner leg gussets.
My husband's number one reason for choosing this system over the others is that he finds it to be the easiest because he doesn't have to worry about what liner goes with what diaper. He knows that the prefolds go with the covers and he doesn't have to spend time making sure he has the correct diaper matched with the correct liner.
We both love the fact that the prefolds hold A LOT of you-know-what! :) When compared to our pocket diapers, we have had far less leaks and those we have had were because of user error!
I think my biggest reason for liking this system is the fact that the diaper is really trim. I haven't had any issues fitting it under her clothes! Plus, isn't it cute? In my opinion, Thirsties has cuter colors and prints when compared to other cloth diaper companies.
Well there you have it! If we haven't convinced you yet, we probably never will until you try it for yourself. I had heard about it from others and was doubtful until experiencing it myself. Now, if my husband is a fan of it, shouldn't everyone be? Haha! If you have any questions, be sure to let me know!
